Haltech Nexus R3 VCU

A power distribution module, a data logger, a wideband controller and an engine management system in one unit. Haltech calls it a VCU, a Vehicle Control Unit.

We stock it. The smaller of the two Nexus units: where the R5 covers up to 12 cylinders, the R3 covers up to 8.

Outputs

• 4 × 25 A continuous, push-pull, PWM capable to 5 kHz, for injectors, coils, transbrake, thermofan or fuel pump
• 8 × peak and hold injector drivers, usable as low side drive outputs
• 8 × low current ignition outputs, usable as low side drive outputs
• 6 × low side drive outputs, PWM capable
• 6 × push-pull or h-bridge, 8 A, PWM capable, for electronic throttle

Inputs

• 11 × 0-5 V analog, with redundancy for electronic throttle and switchable 5 V pullup
• Trigger and home inputs, differential, with adjustable thresholds and glitch filters
• 6 × synchronous pulsed, zero crossing or adjustable threshold: cam sensor, frequency, or 0-5 V analog

Onboard sensing, logging and communication

• 1 × onboard wideband controller, supporting NTK and LSU4.9
• 1 × onboard 4 bar MAP sensor
• 2 × CAN ports with switchable termination
• Onboard logging up to 300 channels at sample rates to 1 ms (1 kHz), 128 MB internal memory

Fitment

• Engines up to 8 cylinders, or up to 4 rotors
• Racing applications where advanced race features, data logging and power management control are required
